Connaught Showjumping operates under the guidance of the Showjumping Ireland (SJI) Connaught Region Committee. This committee is dedicated to promoting and developing showjumping in Connaught and beyond, ensuring that our governance practices are aligned with Show Jumping Ireland (SJI) policies and the Governance Code of Practice for Sport.

Key Governance Bodies:

1. SJI Connaught Region Committee:
   • The main decision-making body, responsible for overseeing all aspects of showjumping activities in the Connaught region.


 

2. Subcommittees:

To enhance our governance practices and ensure specialised attention to various areas, we have established the following subcommittees:
 

• Finance and Governance Committee:
  • Manages financial practices, budget planning, and governance protocols.
     
• Communications and Marketing Committee:
  • Focuses on enhancing communication with members and marketing the sport to a broader audience.
     
• Training Committee:
  • Develops and implements training programmes for riders, owners, officials, and volunteers.
     
• Ponies Committee:
  • Oversees activities and competitions specifically related to ponies.
     
• Horses Committee:
  • Focuses on events and development programs for horse riders and owners.
     
• Amateurs Committee:
  • Supports and promotes participation among amateur riders, ensuring their needs and interests are represented.
